Heather Ennis is the Director of Planetree’s Global Consulting Network.

Prior to joining Planetree, Heather was the Director of Accreditation &Assessment for the School of Health Sciences at the University of New Haven, where she played an integral role in the development of and securing accreditation for several new programs. Additionally, Heather spearheaded the charge to provide a person-centered education to all students in the School of Health Sciences, infusing the healthcare industry with graduates skilled in delivering person-centered care. She was a member of Planetree’s higher education pilot program, where she co-developed educational competencies that are now the standard in the School of Health Sciences curriculum. She serves on several boards and committees, supporting the university and community.

Before joining the University of New Haven, Heather was a project manager in the healthcare industry, specializing in clinical compliance and corporate compliance education. She played a key role in departmental development and management and was a member of the task force that secured her organization’s initial NCQA certification. She contributed to developing several policies, including HIPAA compliance and bone marrow transplant guidelines.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Southern Connecticut State University, a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of New Haven, and is pursuing a Doctor of Health Sciences with a concentration in Educational Leadership. She is currently researching student perspectives on the effects of person-centered care education. She is a member of the Upsilon Phi Delta honor society and is a Fellow of Person-Centered Care with the Planetree Organization.
