Lisa Keitel has been an active member of the Planetree Global Patient and Family Partnership Council (Global PFPC) since 2020, serving on subcommittees focused on annual initiatives, recruitment, content review, and other Council priorities. She has presented the Council's work at the annual Planetree International Forum in Baltimore, Boston, and New Orleans. Since 2020, Lisa has also served as a member of the Minnesota Alliance for Patient Safety Statewide Community Advisory Council.
Lisa has been a patient advisor for more than 25 years. She began her patient advisory work following the birth of her son in 1997, joining the Advisory Council at The Birth Center at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she served from 1998 to 2010. During that time, she represented The Birth Center at two national conferences hosted by the Institute for Patient- and Family-Centered Care.
As a breast cancer survivor, Lisa has been an active member of the Allina Patient and Family Partnership Program (PFPP) since 2014. In 2016, she co-presented with Allina PFPP staff at the Beryl Institute Conference in Dallas.
As the parent of a neurodiverse adult, Lisa is deeply committed to improving patient safety and advancing Person-Centered Care for her son, as well as for all patients, families, and healthcare providers.
