Brigitte has been a dedicated member of the Planetree Global Patient and Family Partnership Council since 2021. She firmly believes that person-centered practices positively influence the workplace and enhance the wellbeing of healthcare personnel, as well as patients and their families.
Brigitte experienced a severe stroke, after which she spent three months at Villa Medica, a Planetree member organization in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. During her recovery journey, she joined the hospital's Planetree Committee as a patient partner in 2020. This experience led to her appointment to Villa Medica's Board of Directors, where she serves as the patient voice. Brigitte's experiences as both a patient and family caregiver have given her firsthand insight into how Person-Centered Care can make a meaningful difference in the recovery process.
Brigitte's professional experience as a senior leader in the education sector, combined with her many years of volunteer service, enables her to actively contribute to her community. She looks forward to continuing her work to help advance Person-Centered Care.
