Heather Ennis, DHSc, MHA, FPCC is the Director of Planetree’s Global Consulting Network, where she supports healthcare organizations worldwide in advancing person-centered care through strategy, education, and transformation.

Prior to joining Planetree, Heather served as Director of Accreditation & Assessment for the School of Health Sciences at the University of New Haven. In this role, she led the development and successful accreditation of multiple academic programs and championed the integration of person-centered care principles across the School’s curriculum. As a participant in Planetree’s higher education pilot program, she co-developed person-centered educational competencies that remain foundational to the School of Health Sciences. Heather continues to support both the university and her broader community through service on multiple boards and committees.

Earlier in her career, Heather worked as a project manager in the healthcare industry, specializing in clinical compliance and corporate compliance education. She played a key role in departmental development and was part of the task force that secured her organization’s initial NCQA certification. Her work included contributing to policies related to HIPAA compliance and bone marrow transplant guidelines.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Southern Connecticut State University, a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of New Haven, and a Doctor of Health Sciences from the University of New Haven with a concentration in Educational Leadership. Her current research focuses on student perspectives on the impact of person-centered care education. She is a member of the Upsilon Phi Delta honor society and a Fellow of Person-Centered Care with Planetree.
