Dr. Majeda Afeef Al-Ruzzieh, PhD, FPCC, CGNC is an internationally recognized nursing executive and advocate for person-centered care, nursing excellence, and healthcare transformation. With more than 30 years of experience in nursing leadership, quality improvement, shared governance, and evidence-based practice, Dr. Al-Ruzzieh has dedicated her career to empowering healthcare professionals and creating environments where patients, families, and care teams thrive.

As Chief Nursing Officer at King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in Jordan, Dr. Al-Ruzzieh has led pioneering initiatives that have elevated nursing practice, strengthened patient outcomes, and advanced the culture of excellence within one of the region’s leading cancer centers. Under her leadership, KHCC became the first hospital in Jordan to achieve Magnet® designation in 2019 and successfully achieved redesignation in 2024. She also guided the organization to become the first hospital in the Middle East to receive shared governance accreditation through the Forum for Shared Governance, achieving recognition in both 2020 and 2024.

A passionate champion for person-centered care, Dr. Al-Ruzzieh has chaired KHCC’s Patient-Centered Care Committee since 2018, advancing initiatives that integrate patient and family partnership into healthcare delivery. In 2024, she became the first professional in Jordan to earn the designation of Fellow in Person-Centered Care (FPCC), reflecting her commitment to embedding compassion, respect, and collaboration into everyday practice.

Dr. Al-Ruzzieh is recognized as a global expert in nursing excellence, Magnet® designation, and shared governance. She has established innovative programs that strengthen nursing capability, including Jordan’s first Oncology Nursing Residency Program, which received distinction accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in 2022—the first of its kind in Jordan and the second in the Middle East.

Her leadership and expertise extend internationally through service on professional boards and committees, including the Commission on Magnet® (COM) as an ANCC Magnet® Commissioner, the Forum for Shared Governance, and the AONL Education Committee. She also contributes to the advancement of nursing education as an advisor to multiple nursing schools in Jordan and is a respected keynote speaker at regional and international healthcare conferences.

Dr. Al-Ruzzieh holds a PhD and is a Certified Global Nurse Consultant (CGNC) and Fellow in Person-Centered Care (FPCC). She is the recipient of the HRH Princess Muna Al-Hussein Award for Nursing Leadership in Jordan (Rafidah Al-Islamiah Medal) and has contributed extensively to nursing scholarship through publications, presentations, and professional education.
